Evel Knievel came to the Meridian Speedway August 3 1968 and jumped a number of cars in the infield sliding accross the track into hay bails against the crash wall to stop him. He also rode on the back wheel standing on the seat around the track! Also with Evel was Jumping Jack Stroh. The roll cage was remove from Jerald Lungren's roadster and Jumping Jack stood in the middle of the front straight away and Jerald came out of the corner straight a Jumping Jack! Jumping Jack jumped into the air and as you can see from the photo, his timing was off a little! Jumping Jacks toes hit the front bumper of Jerald's car, but Jumping Jack cleared the car and landed on his feet! Jerald was suprised and relieved to look back and see Jack on his feet! It made quit a show for the fans!
